Fail To Win

I’ve been hearing lots of youtube commentators talk about how young men avoid getting possibly rejected by women by diving into video games and the like. The advice of the commentators is to try it anyway, and if they get a no, try something else.

It’s good advice, but young men are still preferring video games.

It isn’t only young men. I remember hearing a young woman saying with conviction that failure is not an option. In fact, I’ve heard that often.

It’s pretty similar – these 2 things. One doesn’t even try from fear of failure and rejection; the other only tries if they’re guaranteed a win.

The thing is that failure and rejection is essential to long-term winning. Nobody has ever won something really important to them the first time. They had to try things out, fail and try again. Again and again and again. This is so in personal life and in business life.

It hurts a lot when it happens, but not for long. Failing is a necessary part of winning.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
